Melissa Spoelstra is our guest for the 16th episode of the Finding Joy podcast! Melissa is a writer, author, speaker, mom to four kiddos and she also holds a degree in Bible Theology from Moody Bible Institute. Her passion is not only growing deeper with Christ, but also inspiring other women to seek Him by opening their ears to listen to His Spirit, reading His Word curiously, asking questions, exercising good hermeneutics, and clinging tightly to God through the storms of life.

In addition to her new book, in this episode, Melissa and I talk about:

  • She and her husband’s experience with church planting.
  • How we can discover how God has equipped us and live out our callings.
  • Learning how to find contentment in all circumstances.
  • How God can use suffering to give our lives an even richer and deeper meaning.d
  • What it means to be a joy finder.
  • Living out of a place of love even when we disagree.

Shannon Geurin is our guest for the 15th episode of the Finding Joy podcast! Shannon is not only my dear friend, but she’s also a mother, wife and blogger whose passion is helping women rise up into their calling and be fierce warriors for God. Through her writing, she aims to inspire them to pursue their dreams no matter how far out of reach they seem.

One of the reasons I love Shannon is because of her down-to-earth personality and overall authenticity. Not only is she a tall iced caramel macchiato lover, but she is also a self-admitted hair twister and cuticle picker — something I think a lot of us can relate to (including myself).

In this episode, Shannon and I talk about:

  • Her struggle with infidelity.
  • How God helped she and her husband restore their marriage.
  • How to combat shame and the lies from the enemy.
  • What it looks like to rise up for Christ.
  • What it means to be Fiercely His.
